Week 72: Public Transport Is Not My Friend

Image
I am starting a new segment on my email called "Adventures with public buses" here we go: These past few days me and my companion have been walking to our area ( we live about an hour walking distance ) but our legs just cant anymore so we decided to learn how to take the bus. Lets just say it was trial and error. We have the app blocked on our phone so we went of the guideance of the spirit. The spirit must not of wanted us to work in our area because every bus we went on took us in the opposite dirrecion. It was very humorus and we had some adventures one of them including getting stuck in the middle of a Mountain yes you heard that right we get on this bus and all confidently im like "oh yeah this seems right" but the bus turned and went on this wierd path and after about 10 minutes stopped and the bus driver told us to get off and wait for a different bus to pick us up. We got off and waited and the same bus did a fun little loop right in front of us. Stopped an...

Week 71: Whitewashing Ambato 1 And 16 Months

Whats up!!  this week was crazy busy  I have entered my last transfer of the mission! We got transfer news and me and Hermana Ballam already knew that we were leaving Monteros due to a situation that arose but we are still together and we are whitewashing an area called Ambato it is in a providence called Catamarca which was once part of the Córdoba mission crazy to think that I am in my last area of the mission. Whitewashing is a term that basically means that the two missionaries working here before were taken out and we are left to learn the area from the ground up we have no guide no help basically nothing but a map and a list of members jajaj but we do share a ward with some elders.  It was hard leaving monteros mostly because we had to leave without telling anyone and so we couldnt say goodbye to some members and our friends that we baptized so it was a little heartbreaking.  We got pulled out of monteros in such a wierd way the APs texted us and were like "we'...

NICOLAS WAS BAPTIZED!!! after a lot of spiritual lessons a a little/alot of pushing by yours truely he was baptized and he was SO THANKFUL!! After his baptism he bore his testimony and wow that guy has a stronger testimony than anyone else here in monteros! A little about Nicolas he is a tattoo artist and an econ teacher but he was a Facebook reference who had a lot of doubts a questions but the more we helped him out and helped him understand the spirit he came to recongnize his answers from god. He still was super hestitant to take the baptism step but I got a little pushy but he was cool with it jaja and thought I was funny but thanked me after for pushing him because he had never felt that close to god so that made me happy.  Side note: me and Hermana Ballam are famous i swear at least 7 times this week people came up to us wanting to take a picture with us and we thought it was so funny so we agreed jajaja.  On monday I had a fight with an 80 year old man jajaja. I didnt ...

Week 69: What A Week… But I Survived

Image
Wow what a trying week it was. It started off bad  Monday: we had been teaching our friend for a week and put him on date to be baptized when we call him monday night only to find out he is in prison .  I freaked out ended the call and informed our leaders and it was a mess because I broke the rules without even knowing. Tuesday: went on exchanges in a different area and wow longest flippin day of my life. I have never met so many people who hated us and I also got kind bit by a dog. I felt bad for this homeless dog and felt so bad that I decided to show it a bit of love and instead of letting me pet him he tried to rip my hand off. thats the last time I show love to a stray.  Wednesday: a normal day but I felt off also I didnt sleep well the night before so I was literally exhausted. We had verifications with our DL and he asked us if we felt successful as missionaries I joking not joking said no and he gave me a 10 minute pump up speech that actually made me feel b...
