Week 71: Whitewashing Ambato 1 And 16 Months

Whats up!!  this week was crazy busy

I have entered my last transfer of the mission!

We got transfer news and me and Hermana Ballam already knew that we were leaving Monteros due to a situation that arose but we are still together and we are whitewashing an area called Ambato it is in a providence called Catamarca which was once part of the Córdoba mission crazy to think that I am in my last area of the mission. Whitewashing is a term that basically means that the two missionaries working here before were taken out and we are left to learn the area from the ground up we have no guide no help basically nothing but a map and a list of members jajaj but we do share a ward with some elders.

It was hard leaving monteros mostly because we had to leave without telling anyone and so we couldnt say goodbye to some members and our friends that we baptized so it was a little heartbreaking.

We got pulled out of monteros in such a wierd way the APs texted us and were like "we'll be there in an hour" they showed up and everything happened so fast our suitcases were in the car in less than 2 minutes and we were zooming out of monteros as if we had just robbed a bank i mean they were driving over 110 miles per hour so we were zoomin!! It took less than 30 minutes to get the the mission office which is fast because monteros is about an hour and 10 minute drive away. It was a strange night.

When we got to Ambato i was a little overwhelmed because apparently the Córdoba missionaries dont use maps jajaja they literally have a map that was made in 2021 and its so out of date and so was their list of members. We ended up working our entire first whole day not in our area because they didnt have boundry lines and we literally put someone on date for baptism but for the elderesI was so done and just so frustrated at how unorganized everything was. I got a hold of the ward secretary and he printed me off an updated member list! and me and Hermana went to work finding all of their houses and putting them into a Google map we got our cartographer hats on and by sunday we had everything all organized and my mind was finally at peace.

We have been wondering around our area like headless chickens because its an area thats wierdly city but then you get further our and you are in a middle of a field. It has been a hard adjustment with lots of frustration tears and angry words for the hermanas who where here before me but its been getting better.

Miracles:
We put a guy named julio on date for baptism he is a Facebook reference and has a lot of potencial so I am excited to see how his progress goes.

Lots of prayers will be needed this transfer because aparently the hermanas before us didnt do much so the members dont trust us or want to help us so we have a lot of work to do undoing the damage done by the last sisters!!!

Good week.

Los amo a todos
