Week 72: Public Transport Is Not My Friend
I am starting a new segment on my email called "Adventures with public buses" here we go:
These past few days me and my companion have been walking to our area ( we live about an hour walking distance ) but our legs just cant anymore so we decided to learn how to take the bus. Lets just say it was trial and error. We have the app blocked on our phone so we went of the guideance of the spirit. The spirit must not of wanted us to work in our area because every bus we went on took us in the opposite dirrecion. It was very humorus and we had some adventures one of them including getting stuck in the middle of a Mountain yes you heard that right we get on this bus and all confidently im like "oh yeah this seems right" but the bus turned and went on this wierd path and after about 10 minutes stopped and the bus driver told us to get off and wait for a different bus to pick us up. We got off and waited and the same bus did a fun little loop right in front of us. Stopped and picked us up again my question is "what was the point of us getting off the bus?" But in the end we always made it to our area.
I got sick the whole week i felt like crap but saturday really did me dirty.
We had lunch with one of the people we are teaching and it was the strangest meal i have ever had. He kept saying sterotypical things like he gave us water and then his niece said " why did you give them water and not soda " and he with a confused looks goes " because their mormon they can only drink water " later while we are eating he asks what we lile do to do i go say that I like playikg sports and he goes " mormons can play sports?" he then later asks me if its true that everyone in the U.S eats 6 eggs for breakfast. i just looked at him and tried so hard not to laugh it was such a strange meal but we had a cool lesson about the plan of salvation so worth it.
Our friends:
Samuel: he is a reference from some random guy off the street we went to visit him and he is so cool. He is 22 and a barber and is budhist?? we are not sure whatvhis belives are but he started reading the book of mormon and when we taught him how to pray he sends us a message later saying how he now loves to pray. He has a baptism date so hopefully it all goes well.
Raul: he is what we call a gris ( someone taught in the past ) he is cool but is kinda flaky with our appointments. He also has a baptism date so lots of prayers for him.
Funny story: on sunday we are waiting outside and greeting people when this guy selling popcorn walks up to us and I invite him in he walks in sits down and about 5 minutes later walks out I ask him if he liked it and he goes " no ive seen enough" jajaja he said it so kindly that it made me laugh.
As a mission every night we do a prayer on zoom but hermana Hermosilla has added a little twist. She now calls one companionship randomly to give a house tour so that the whole mission knows whether or not you are clean. It has been pretty humorus and its a bright spot in my day. It feels like an invasión of privacy but its so funnym and everyone is so invested it makes it even better.
Thats all for this week
Los amo a todos
