Week 33: Thanksgiving

Image
Well my first and only thanksgiving in the mission came and went. I thought it wouldnt feel like thanksgiving but I woke up to cold rainy weather. The rain followed me from Washington and wished me a happy thanksgiving so that made me smile. We ended the day absoulety soaking wet but it made me happy. As an apartment we ended up making mashed potatos, stuffing, Mac and cheese and a little cake to celebrate. I missed my family A TON because our mission president wouldnt allow us to call home so that was hard :( But all in all a pretty good day.  The weather was absoulety garbage this week. Super muddy, cold and miserable but a lot better than 110 degree weather jajaja.  This week was pretty fast and thanks to Luciano who is literally the best convert ever we have two very good people that we are teaching.  One is the Cousin of Luciano his name is Igancio and he is super fun! He came to church this sunday and seemed to really enjoy it. We have plans to invite him to be bapt...

Week 32: 7 MONTHS!!

Like last week this week wasnt very exciting. We have been working hard to find people to teach with very little results. We had been feeling pretty down about the whole Adrian Exequiel thing when we ran into him on the street and the things he told us just werent adding up and he looked exhausted all in all something was off. We ended going to his house the next day but he wouldnt answer the door. We then texted him and said that if he didnt want to learn more to tell us and he said " for now I dont " it was like another slap in the face and we havent gotten answers of what happened so I think that'll remain a mystery.  Another down is that there are a few members here who have been pretty mean to us telling us that we arent working hard enough and that we are the reason attendance at church is low we had about 5 lessons this week with members telling us the work harder and that we shouldnt baptize people. It was a pretty rough week on that part of things especially when...

Week 31: The Worst Feeling

Image
Last Pday I found two fun things to do. One was a giant armadillo statue and tje other was a giant Jesús statue that took a really sketchy hour bus ride to get to but worth it.  We didnt recieve any transfer news so I am staying in Vicente solá for my third transfer and my second transfer with Hermana Lemos.  Its been over 40 degrees celsius and for you americans that means its been 104 and more outside and in some areas in my mission its been over 115 so this summer should be interesting because its only spring here.  This email is really short but heres the climax of the week I dont even know how to put into words how heartbreaking this saturday was. Everything was going perfect all week with Adrian Exequiel he was so prepared and even told us how excited and prepared he was for his baptism. 2 hours before his bañtism he senda us a text saying see you in a little bit im super excited well... We get to the church building set up everything and wait for him to show up. We...

Week 30: The Great Flood

I want to start my email by addressing some suprising news we recived this week that is going to change the mission.  Here it is... they are dividing our mission thats means that they are taking the provinces Tucuman and Santiago and making a new mission Tucuman Argentina which will consist of Tucuman, Santiago del estero and part of the Córdoba mission. The Salta misson will now consist of only Salta and Jujuy! (this wont happen until next year) How crazy is that news!  Halloween was pretty fun! It was just a normal work day but at night a ton of kids had dressed up and attempted to go tricker treating it was a little pathetic because not everyone was doing it so when they knocked on the doors they didnt recieve anything jajaja. But Me and Hermana Martinez attempted to teach Hermana Lemos and Hermana De Angelo how to carve "pumpkins" it was pretty funny because Hermana Lemos started carving the "pumpkin" without gutting it and Hermana De Angelo almost cut her ...
