Week 31: The Worst Feeling
Last Pday I found two fun things to do. One was a giant armadillo statue and tje other was a giant Jesús statue that took a really sketchy hour bus ride to get to but worth it.
We didnt recieve any transfer news so I am staying in Vicente solá for my third transfer and my second transfer with Hermana Lemos.
Its been over 40 degrees celsius and for you americans that means its been 104 and more outside and in some areas in my mission its been over 115 so this summer should be interesting because its only spring here.
This email is really short but heres the climax of the week
I dont even know how to put into words how heartbreaking this saturday was.
Everything was going perfect all week with Adrian Exequiel he was so prepared and even told us how excited and prepared he was for his baptism. 2 hours before his bañtism he senda us a text saying see you in a little bit im super excited well... We get to the church building set up everything and wait for him to show up. We call, we text we call his sister we send Luciano to his house, we send another member to his house finally we treck the 20 minute walk bang on the door, we call his name we call his phone again until we accept the fact that he wont be baptized. Me and Hermana Lemos kind of just looked at each other on the verdge of tears. I just want to say it was the crappest feeling ever to have to return to the church building and announce that we wouldnt be having a baptism. It was just so sad and we kind of just sat there shocked because we had talked to him 2 hours before and everything was fine. We have no idea what happened we have sent messages and tried to call and we have recieved nothing in return. We just hope everything is ok. So pray for him please!!!
Los amo a todos
