Week 2: Last Week At Home

Image
This week went by so fast I can’t believe I leave for Mexico City this Tuesday. I am very excited but very nervous because my Spanish is not very good. I can understand what people ask me but I have a hard time responding and forming the words myself.  This week was pretty relaxed although I am now the champion at giving three minute lessons on the restoration. And I have memorized the first vision in Spanish so I’m pretty proud of myself.  On Thursday I accidentally created an argument between everyone in my district because I like rainbow goldfish and apparently they all hate rainbow goldfish so I got attacked for like 5 minutes straight. And what is with people and sour skittles? Apparently I’m the only one who doesn’t like them.  This week went by so fast I don’t even remember Monday-Thursday but on Saturday I got to be the chauffeur for prom. I had a fun time teasing Allie about her date . I had to drive my family's big suburban and I’d never driven it on the freeway...

Farewell Talk

Good morning brothers and sisters,  I am really excited to speak to you guys today for those of you who don't know I have been called  to serve in the Argentina Salta mission and I leave for the CCM on Tuesday for my last four weeks of  training. I am really nervous but super excited.  I had a really difficult time with this talk. I'm not kidding. I've known since March that I was  speaking today and yet I wrote my talk yesterday. I went through this process about 5 times until Friday night when I felt pretty good about what I am going to speak to you today.  The topic of my talk is on the general conference talk "just keep going-with faith" given by Carl B. Cook. I really like this talk because it talks a lot about looking to God in times of hardship and the fact that we can overcome dis...

Week 1

Hola everybody I started my first week at the home MTC and oh my goodness it’s so fun and I have learned a ton in just a week. The first day went surprisingly smooth. My district is awesome and super funny because on the first day although none of us knew Spanish we were all too embarrassed to ask for a translation so we just nodded and pretended like we knew or we just sat there with blank looks on our faces. The funnest part of the day was when Élder Dickson fell asleep in our Spanish class. Honestly I don’t blame him, it didn't end until super late.  For some reason I am everyone's fall guy especially the Élders they always choose me to speak especially Élder Dickson I like to say that he is my enemy because we are always paired up in breakout rooms I’m not kidding and he always without a doubt throws me randomly into the group conversation making me share some scripture or insight he basically makes me do all the talking and if you know me I’m not about that. I also learned...
