Week 1
Hola everybody
I started my first week at the home MTC and oh my goodness it’s so fun and I have learned a ton in just a week.
The first day went surprisingly smooth. My district is awesome and super funny because on the first day although none of us knew Spanish we were all too embarrassed to ask for a translation so we just nodded and pretended like we knew or we just sat there with blank looks on our faces. The funnest part of the day was when Élder Dickson fell asleep in our Spanish class. Honestly I don’t blame him, it didn't end until super late.
For some reason I am everyone's fall guy especially the Élders they always choose me to speak especially Élder Dickson I like to say that he is my enemy because we are always paired up in breakout rooms I’m not kidding and he always without a doubt throws me randomly into the group conversation making me share some scripture or insight he basically makes me do all the talking and if you know me I’m not about that.
I also learned that me and Élder Kesler do not work well together only because we never understand instructions and when we work together we are hopelessly confused and spend the time laughing at how stupid we are.
My companion Hermana Woodson is the cutest person ever. She is from Kentucky and is going to serve in Sacramento California. She has such a strong testimony in Christ and such a light about her. I love her insights and our studies together are always super effective.
Although it’s only been one week I can understand a lot of what my teachers say. I have one class entirely in Spanish and for the most part I understand a lot of it. Little by little my understanding becomes more clear and it’s really amazing. I did have to take a self assessment to see where I am at with my language learning and let’s just say I am really sucky at Spanish.
I found this scripture during my companionship study and I love it so much!
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
I love you all
Hermana Jensen
