Week 62: Last Ditch Attempt And Temple Dedication
Hola hola
Heres the run down
Crazy stuff this week especially on tuesday because our branch president called us into a meeting and he seemed really sad like super down and stressed out so we go to the church and we sit in on this meeting and the district presidency propose their last ditch attempt on "saving" the area/branch and if it doesnt work they are going to close it for good. This area hasnt had a baptism in so long ( missionaries here call it the hardest/worst area to work in, me have actually fallen in love with my tiny little branch ) the church attendance is so low that we basically dont even have a sacrament meeting on sundays they basically said that if we cant get more members to come to church by the end of the transfer they are going to close it. Their plan is to move the records of two members to our branch and they are assigned to literally go on visits with us and reactivate familys so every tuesday they are going to visit families with us and help reactive líderes and families back into the branch..I really hope this works it feels like a lot of pressure because the future of the branch kinda rests on the shoulders of me and my companion because if we cant reactive more members the 4 people that do come to church wont be able to. So please pray for the monteros branch!!
Ok some miracles:
We found a family and the parents are married!! And they are so awesome and are super open to listening to us so hopefully we can put them on date for baptism this week.
On Thursday we recieved a reference and called him and just by talking to him we felt the urge to invite him to be baptized and so we did and he accepted!!! Pray for Gabriel he literally so awesome.
Guess who's back:
GABRIELA!! esta chica!! We called her because we had no one else to call and she goes literally right off the bat " hermanas when is my baptism?" ( if you remember she had some problems with her family ) so we tell her " you cant be baptized until you fix your family problems" and she goes " thats ok i worked it all out" we got so excited that we put her on date for the next saturday! Lots of prayers are needed!
Temple dedication:
I got to see my first temple dedication and it was super spiritual. Elder Cristofferson was the apostle who did the dedicaction and he was a missionary here in salta way back when jajaj and he said he never would have imagined a temple here in the North of argentina and here he was dedicating the first temple. It was super cool and such a unique experience that I will carry with me for my whole life. There were lots of tears ( not by me ) but by the members it was super sweet and the prayer he said was so powerful i literally thought argentina was going to explode with the presence of the spirit! The dedication strengthed my testimony of the temples and you could feel god and christ accepting the temple as theirs and it was just such a wonderful experince!!
Los amo a todos
