Week 56: Temple Open House Pt 1, Miracles And Transfers

My P day was changed to Thurdsday due to the temple open house so heres part 1...part two coming on monday also sorry in advance this email is long!! Not really because its worth the read. 


So we got tranfers news I am with Hermana Cunha again jajaja. If you remember we were companions back in december and January for a transfer and half and now we are together again jajaj. I havent even been to my new area because I left Perico for Salta to work at the temple open house for a week. But my new area is called Monteros and its in a different providence called Tucuman I now have 3/4 provencias in the mission. But Monteros is one of the smallest areas in the mission it is TINY.


On Thursday I left for Salta and well I was waiting alone in the terminal i ran into..
Guess who...can you guess... VALERIA Y LUANA!! my very first baptims in the mission. I was so happy to run into them it was so crazy but literally so awesome to see them and talk to then after almost a year!!!


Friday was the first day of the temple open house and wow it was so fun and crazy to get to work there. At first not many people showed up but then all these american familias showed up because their fathers were once misisonaries in salta way back when so it was super cool to talk to them. I also ran into... LOURDES!!! I baptized her back in september!!!! We both saw each other and literally we both started crying it was fun to be able to see her at the temple  and to catch up with one another!!! Wow what a miracle filled day we worked from 8:00 in the morning to 8:00 at night we were so tired because we got 0 breaks and 0 food so we were pretty much dead by the end. But we met a ton of non members interested in the church and the most common question we recieved was " whose that golden guy on top?" or " why are the same floweres drawn in every room?" ( aparently every room had the flower of salta drawn somewhere ). But it was so fun to talk and teach and find potential people that could some day be members. 


Saturday another amazing day. Well waiting outside the temple to respond to questions a man approached us and we asked about his experience and he started crying. He said he had never felt so much peace and comfort and he was so overwhelemed with emotions that he couldnt even explain how he was feeling. He wanted to learn more so we annotated his name and sent the reference. 


As I was showing a video to present the temple guess who walked in LUCIANO!!!! He walked in with a suit and tie and i literally was so happy to see him ( i taught and baptized him back in october ) i got to talk to him and he told me he recieved the melckzidic priesthood, we took a picture jajaj. On sunday I was able to assist in Vicente solá and witnessed Luciano bless the sacrament later he got up and bore his testimony and got all teary eyed and sayed " i am so grateful for the Hermana Jensen and Lemos for bringing me the gospel and changing my life and for helping me make it to the temple " I was in tears literally bawling like a baby to see him where he is now and i feel so blessed to have been the missionary to find him, to teach him and change his life. 


Some cool stories from the templo: 


We met this lady who is part of the catholic church and she LOVED and i mean LOVED the temple that the next day she brought her ENTIRE family and I mean her entire family her kids, her parents her grandparents her neighbor jajaj literally everyone. And their all catholic but are literally in love with the temple. 


I ran into like 20 americans who were all once missionaries here in salta and it was cool to see them with the people they taught and baptized sweet moments to witness. 


When we were waiting outside a lady came up to us and said " i feel so much love and peace there really is no place on earth like the temple how do I get baptized " we couldnt write down her number fast enough. 


A guy told us that he always thought us mormons were crazy and a fake religión so he came to see the temple and he told us that he left the temple doors a changed man saying that our church is the church most close to god and christ and that hes going to invite everyone to the temple. 


Two old ladies came up to me or should I say ran up to me and shoved a CGI photo of the temple in my face and asked me not about the temple but about the CGI flower and what it symbolized I literally told them nothing and that I was just a flower made by a computer and they stood like 🧍‍♀️ looking at me blankly jajaj. 


Every person we talked to said that they have never felt so much peace and love ever in their life than in the 10 minute tour of the temple and wow it was so amazing to be able to just talk and see how much impact the temple has on a community. My testimony has grown a lot in these last few days about the temple and there really is no other place like them on earth. The temples really are the house of the lord where we can learn, grow and become more like him. We are truely blessed to have a small part of the heavens here on the earth. I wish I could share every experience i expierenced in the temple but that would take to long. Just know that members and non members alike feel something very different inside the temple and it changes the lives of all.

Week 76: 17 Months, Hotter Than Mars And ITS SPRING!!!

Whatttttttt i cant believe I am at 17 months ! Monday we did a district Pday in the Mountains. It sounds all nice and dandy but it wasnt. The ride up was twisty and we were in this old bus that tilted off the side of the cliff everytime we turned. We saw a 100 foot tall virgin statue and then a few yards away this minsicule jesus statue that you had to squint to see ( argentinas sure got her priorities straight here ) It was over 100 degrees and dusty. We hiked and ate asado which was the best part. I felt like angelia in the office when I said the music was too loud. On my behalf we couldnt hear eaxh other and had to ScReAm to speak.  Anways we ended up getting stuck in the Mountain because we missed the bus twice but it was fine because we ended up playing Catan i was partnered with elder Heredia and we won. and we drank mate you know theres nothing like sharing the same drink and straw between 8 missionaries as a bonding exercise. we love a good mateada. Week 77: Trio Life…Again

Tuesday: we had a good day we picked up the Hermana Osmond from the terminal and got everything organized and we went to work we put 3 people on date for baptism so awesome and we have just been having a blast together. I am back to sleeping on the floor. With three of us sharing a room theres not enough beds so I am on the floor but I offered.  It will make me appreciate my bed at home all the more.  so right now i am kinda training not training both hermana Osmond and Hermana Ballam have just gotten out of their training and i am here to see how they will do on their own without me president literally called me personally and told me i am a glorified babysitter for the next 3 weeks itll be fun they are awesome i have enjoyed it so far . Wednesday: we put Samuel back on date for baptism so that was awesome!! For lunch we ate with a member and they pulled voka out of the fridge and poured me a glass best water ever. Week 22: A Cruel Joke And Lautaros Baptism!!!!!!!

Muy buenos dias bienvenidos a una otra semana!  Bueno this week was good on Monday me and Hermana Braatz wondered into a Catholic Mass where we got really wierd looks. It was a very peaceful experience we also saw some one get shushed by a priest and it was really funny we had to leave before we laughed to loud.  Thursday: our district leaders played a CRUEL joke on us. In the afternoon we waited patiently to recieve a call saying the Lautaro passed his baptism interview and at 4:30 or so we recieved a text from the Elders saying that they needed to talk to us about Lautaro because he failed his interview. We freaked out trying to call them sent texts and they werent responding so we trecked the 40 minute walk to Lautaros house and knocked on his door determined to find out what happened his sister answered and said that he had left because he failed the interview and we asked about what had happened and she told us that he couldnt answer some of the questions  because we...
