Week 51: Easter And Glasses
Ok we see lots and lots of miracles over and over. Lets start with Monday. We have this friend named Rene I mentioned him last email and he has come to church but had some problems with the word of wisdom and we called him to give a lessons and before we could even ask he told us that he has stopped smoking and has stopped cociando i kid you not I started crying because I was so happy to hear that he was finally seeing the results of his efforts. God is good and has hand in the work of the lord. Me and Hermana Lazarte wanted to scream we were so happy for him.
Tuesday: ok so we attempted to invite someone to be baptized and she told us she had to ask her pastor for permision #fail jajaja. Pero tengamos fe!!!!
Wednesday: we recieved a reference and called him and we literally couldnt hear anything his hand or something was covering the speaker and he literally was so rude and hung up on us and we texted him apolozing and he literally told us we dont speak good spanish. im a little butt hurt but whatever after that we were never able to get in contact with him again. #fail2.0 he literally just didnt have the patience because I speak pretty good spanish and my companion is literallly fluent in spanish we just have a different accent and literally every other person can understand us
Thursday: I had my eye appointment and... i now have glasses. I look like an idiot with glasses but oh well I only have to use them when I am tired and when I read, and write, and basically if something strains my eyes I need to use them. Getting the stupid appointment done was no picnic. We got there only to learn they dont accept credit cards so we literally had to walk the half hour walk home get my cash and walk all the way back and we literally passed like 40 eye doctor buildings on the way and I literally was so annoyed at the fact that Elder Shepard told us to go to the eye doctor on the other side of town, oh well we got there and my mission insurance wasnt working so that was another 20 minute wait they then did my eye exam and shined lots of lights and dilated my eyes but only one of my eyes dilated so I looked super goofy with one gigantic pupil and one tiny pupil they then did more tests and told me I needed glasses so I got to have a fun time picking them out while the lady at the counter was literally judging me in the end we learned that I look so dumb when I wear glasses like I look so bad. But it was like seeing a whole new world i can finally read and write and see without hurting my eyes
Friday: what a long day... thats all there is to say. We had to walk passed a literal mob of catholics i am not kidding there was probably more than 1000 of them walking down main street all dressed as Jesus and with crosses ( crown of thorns and everything ) I thought it was a little offensive but maybe I just didnt understand. I was literally so confused and worried for my life but the music kinda slapped.
Saturday: our friend Rene had is pre interview for his baptism this saturday and wow it was rough but we're going to blame it on his bad memory. He is awesome but just cant remember some things without a little nudge in the right dirreccion. I kinda had to get down and serious with him because he slipped up a little on the word of wisdom but only once and i literally told him with love " if you do it again we wont baptize you so dont do it again...EVER again " he said he wouldnt do it because it makes him sick now so please pray that he continues to stay strong
Sunday: Easter!!! Rene came to church for the second time!! His baptism is this saturday!!!! I am super excited and happy. I also recived a photo of a member in my last area showing me that one of my converts ( Lucanio ) went to PFJas!! I was super happy to hear that he went and that his is preparing to recieve the melckzidic priesthood!! #futuromisionero
I have gained a really strong testimony of the atonment and resurrection of Jesus Christ on my mission. I have gained a personal relationship with my savior. Before he always seemed like a distant relative that i never saw. But here on my mission a gained a deep understanding of what he did for us. What he did for me. I love my savior and I know he is always there. He has felt my pain and suffering. He shed his blood for me and for every single person. No other person could of done what he did. His Atonement was the greatest act of love the world will every see. I know that my redemer lives and that he loves me!!!
Los amo a todos
