Week 45: 10 Months
So Tuesday was Carnaval and here is a fun look at what my tuesday looked like. During carnaval the people here like to "bless" their cars with alcohol, flour and confetti and the teenages will drive around and literally throw water ballons, beer and flour on people just walking and minding their own bussiness. We managed to not get hit almost all day but later in the afternoon we sat down to update our lessons and we hear a truck aproaching full of teenage Boys and wow it happened in slow motion one yells " buenas tardes" and we get pelted with water balloon after water ballon we got soaked like soaked our bags, hair and clothes absolutely drenched. We just looked at each other and started laughing so hard. It was kind of miserable the rest of the day but a fun memory. We almost got hit with flour but we looked at them and pointed to our tags it worked and they left us alone. We avoided busy streets for the rest of the night.
Valentines day!!! Once again single.jajajaja jk ive got two amazing companions. We had a fun day and did a little gift exhange with Hermana Mortasini and Hermana Toboaba I had Hermana Mortasini I just wrote her name in hearts and bought her some candy. Hermana Lopez had me and she gave me a card and some chocolate. Later we did face masks and ate this Brasilian lemon cream that Hermana Souza made it was very good.
I hit 10 months in my mission which is literally crazy. Time is flying and is running out I seriously cant believe it. I have hit a pretty good stride in my mission and just feel so good. We have seen lots of miracles, we have 3 people on date for baptism and more people to invite. I love working in a trio its super fun and we work really well together and all get along super well. The mission has really helped me and I feel like a different person the more and more I reflect on my experiences in the last 10 months.
We have 3 people on date for baptism so if you want to pray for Marcos, Cristian, and Ezequiel I would be very grateful.
Yesterday we had Zone conference lets just say not the most uplifiting experience of my life. We recieved a page and a half of new rules and things we cannot do. The looks on everyones face when we recieved the new rules was not funny i swear we were all on the verge of tears elders and all. Anyways I got to get know some missionaries and I got a laugh at the elders asking if I had heard of agua de proteína and them arguing on the van ride home how to get big before going home. It was super funny but a little strange.
I have decided to start to share a spiritual thought in my emails because my dad always sends me a recap of his scripture study and I always enjoy it so Im going to start doing it. This week I was studying alma 17-19 ( about Ammon and King Lamoni ) and as a district we were asked to compare his ways of teachings to those of chapter 10 in preach my gospel. Anyways the story of Ammon has always been my favorite I think its because when I was younger it was the only story other than Nefi and the 2000 stripling warriors that I could remember. But I really dived deep into these chapters and learned a lot. As a missionary I am so ready to jump into a lesson and teach but one thing I learned from Ammon was the power of service and the gift of derscernment. Ammon first served King Lamoni, gained his trust and then taught him by the gift of the holy ghost. Ammon used the kings knowedgle of a greater being to teach him and help him understand who god is. We all have different levels of understandings and different beliefs but like Ammon and Lamoni we can always find common ground and teach in a way that we can both learn and understand. Thats my spiritual thought this week
Los amo a todos muchísimo!!!!
Dios te ama!!!
