Week 38: New Year, New Miracles

Happy new year! Wow its 2024 this year was so fast. But this week was good we saw lots of miracles!

We have been teaching one person her name is Berta and she had been having a few problems with the word of wisdom but this week she told us that its been a week or so since she last fell back into old habits so that was awesome. She is so close to being baptized the only thing we are waiting for is for her husband to get his papers so they can get married!

We have been visiting this family of recent converts and their daughter is the only one in the family not baptized but she told us she wants to be baptized in the next year to be able to go to the temple with her family in feburary. So we are excited for whats to come this month.

Another miracle is that a less active member told us to visit her and teach her son about the gospel because aparently hes been asking to go to church.

Big miracle!!! As we were walking to church we see this guy chillin on a bench and he asks us where we are going so we stop and say that were going to church and we point to the building aka house. We invite him to come and hes all " in these clothes" and of course we say " yeah its not important the clothes you wear everyones welcome" and he literally came to church but when he entered the house all these dogs entered as well and we realized it was because he was holding a literal bag full of meat but he gave it to us to keep in a different room so the dogs wouldnt bother us during the meeting. We gave him a book of mormon and while we waited for the meeting to start he was reading so yeah thats a win. He gave us his number and we are very excited.

Well its been super hot here like super hot and humid its like the kind of weather that makes you feel like your sufficating because the air is so heavy and hot. And guess what kind of creatures love this weather. Yeah cocroaches and giagantic mosquitos. So we get to wake up every morning with tiny cocroaches on our floor and we get to kill them and when we get home and night as well. This week we had a pretty bad infestacion of mosquitos only because our stls left their window open all night and the apartment was full of these giagantic mosquitos when we killed them they left unwashable blood marks on our wall so one room looked like a murder scene. But we bought Raid and we went to town spraying and literally fummaging the room. We went to bed and woke up opened the door to the room and there were a ton of dead mosquitos on the floor.

Ok lets just say that working three areas is exhausting and not super eficaz. We are working a branch and a ward and they are about 30 minutes apart by taxi so we are spliting time and we have seen how both are suffering. We have to split sundays too so one Sunday we are in Monterrico and the other we are in Perico and so on. Its been super tiring but we are extremely blessed to have amazing members in Perico who watch over our friends when we cant be there to do so. Soooo if you want to help a girl out you can pray that they divide the areas once more.

Ok so New years eve was so fun like christmas eve we were able to eat dinner at a members house until 10 but no one invited us until we ran into our bishops wife and she asked if we had food to eat to celebrate new years and we were like " we have some bread and eggs hahah "and literally without hesitatanting she was all " come to our house we'll feed you" so we went but on the way we were literally almost attacked by a dog it literally sprinted at us and was barking and almost bit my leg but a guy ran out of his house and literally jumped on the dog at just the right moment literally saving us from what couldnve been a bad attack (god really dows protect his missionaries) . Anyways for dinner our bishop made steak it was so good and we ate two different kinds of home made cheese cake so yeah i was in heaven. The only thing was we ended up breaking a few rules hahaha
1. When it came time to leave we were super late and our bishop was all frantic so he drove us home without his wife so yeah we were alone with a guy in a car oops
2. He couldnt get his car out of the garage so he had to use his work car which only had two seats so I had to sit in the trunck without a seat but thats not even the worst part because he didnt close the door so if we had hit a bump I would've gone flying.
3. We got home SUPER late our zone leaders were freaking out calling us sending messages thinking we were dead or something. Oh well
All in all a super fun day and I am super excited for this new year!!
I cant believe its 2024.

Los amo a todos
Feliz año nuevo
