Week 17: Goodbye Metan
You are probably wondering " jordan why goodbye metan its half way through the transfer where are you?" Well... I am in salta the capital.
Heres the story of why:
On Tuesday ( crazy day we were supposed to have exhanges but our capas never showed up until 5 ) but during lunch with a member me and Hermans Willden recieved a call from the AP and so we anwered and he told us that we had to move to Salta and meet our new companion. We were shocked and had no idea what was happening because it was an emergency transfer. So on wednesday we ran around saying goodbye to people and had a little party with my three converts ( Valeria, Luana and Martina ) it was so hard saying goodbye we all cried. And on Thursday me and Hermana Willden moved to Salta where we were picked up by the Elders in the Office who literally locked us in the car for 20 minutes in 100 degree heat. We waited in the mission office where we hungout with the Elders and ate lunch with them it was fun (#inlovewithElderSheperd) (jk). We met our new companion Hermana Braatz and got to visit our mission president and his wife IN THEIR HOUSE!!! we ate icecream with them and talked for like 3 hours it was so fun we are besties now, and we even got to sit in on the testimonies of the 9 Elders leaving for home. It was so freakin awesome and spiritual!
So thats the story. I am in a new area called Vicente Sola and its a really good area. Its in Salta and its very different then Metan. Metan is this rinky dink little town and to go from that to a literally city is wack. But guys our apartment is so small and we live with another companionship and theres like no room to move or do anything its so fun lol. We also live with our Capas ( head sister missionaries basically ) so its a little scary but whatever its fun.
Theres also a dog that follows us around all day and its so cute but really annoying. We call him bigotes hes really old.
So I am now in a trio its a little wierd but fun. I understand every conversation and every interaction we have but cant speak so thats frustrating. Hermana Braatz is amazing she has only been in this area for like 3 weeks so we are all learning the area together but in 2 weeks we have tranfers again so its a strange thing to have to learn an area and meet the people when in 2 weeks we probably wont be here anymore.
Also this coming wednesday i am so excited we get to work and do service in the Salta temple thats getting ready to be opened. We get to do 3 hours of service with Jermana Janzen ( mission presidents wife ) literally just me and my companions its like a huge oppptunity that only we get and no other Hermanas ( hehehe) so I am so freakin excited!!!
A cool experience with my Spanish this week: we were visiting a member and he shared like a 30 minute testimony about the temple and the spirit was so strong I understood every single word and it was amazing I was in tears at how strong of a testimony this man has for the church and for the Temple. Also I got to bear my testimony in church and I literally just started talking and the words came to my mouth and afterwards everyone was like" Hermana that was incredible" because appearently I sounded fluente so that was really cool and nice to hear but its most definetly not true.
For Pday today I get to walk around the City and visit some cool places so thats exciting!
Thats it for this week
Con mucho amor
