Week 15: A Wacky Few Days
Ok well this week was wack especially Thursday as we were walking this old guy calls us over to his house and we get all excited because we don't have much people to teach so we walk over and start talking to him and he asks if we believe in the Bible and of we course we say yes and hes all excited but then he asks us about the 13th apostle of Jesus Christ me and Hermana Willden just look at each other and this guy is like " yeah yeah hes in the bible theres not 12 apostles theres 13" and spends like 15 minutes telling us about this apostles and im just all around confused and then he talks about Adam and Eve and how they never actually exsisted and how we actually had 4 first parents who were all a different color: red, yellow, white and black. Me and Hermana Willden just stood there not knowing how to respond. We left that interaction with confused looks on our faces and laughed our heads off because it was so freakin weird. Later as we were walking this old lady from across the street yells " MI AMIGAS!!!" and waddles over to us and just hugs us and starts singing about Jesus i was trying so hard not to laugh because this is so weird and then she talks about how shes a relative of John the baptist because her last name is Bautista. We gave her a pamphlet and she takes its and just and waddles away. And later in the night we were attempting to find this reference and we knock on his door and he opens it and we start talking and he goes " no no you have the wrong house" so we leave but then we look at the picture in his whats app and its literally the same guy so that was fun we love being lied to lol.
I experienced the worst day by far on my mission. Saturday was HORIBLE!!!! I pulled a muscle in my neck and couldnt turn my head to the left ( i still cant lol ) but we had to walk ( aka summit) up our Mountain of a hill two different times and of course its the hotest day of the week and I dont know why but after the second time walking up it I was so exhausted all my energy was gone and I couldnt even think of what we had to do and what makes it worse was all our appointments in the cerró weren't home I was so frustrated and exhausted because we had three hours worth of appoinments completed in 20 minutes because no one was home. We had to replan everything but we don't have anyone to teach so we were at a loss for what to do. We finally sat down on some muddy grass that was probably dog poop and tried not cry because we were hot, sweaty and full of dissapointment but what do we do in times like this? we pray! So we prayed and stopped walling in our self pity and just walked in the hope to find someone. We didnt find anyone lol. We ended our day dirty, frustrated and with more blisters than one could count.
On Sunday we had a conference over zoom and literally the entire meeting was my mission president telling all of us that we suck as missionaries and need to be better. He showed us the statics from our mission compared to others in the Latín American area and we are literally the best but... he was angry at our "lack" of success and me and my companion literally started crying because all our frustration just came out it was bad lol.
I have been banned from cleaning :( Hermana Villagomez and Willden have banned me from doing the dishes and all around cleaning because fun fact I do all of it and sunday night I was washing the dishes and Hermana Villagomez comes storming down the stairs and full on yells at me and tells me to stop being a good person and to go to bed. So thats fun but literally if I didnt clean our apartment would be horrific. But I am now banned so we'll see what happens this week.
Now for a few mirarles this week:
Me and Hermana Willden worked our butts off everyday. And guess what we put 4 more people on date for baptism. Pray for Dario, Maita, Carlo and Norma!!! They are all amazing and I love them.
Carlo and Norma are old and so sweet they have had such a sad and hard life and I am so excited for them to find happiness in the gospel. They are so funny everytime we pray they say things during the prayer like "huha, gracias, wow, sí" its so funny.
We found Dario because he needed us to read an email and it was in english and we ended up teaching him and he was really interested and wanted to learn more so we met him the next day and invited him to be baptized.
Maita is the sweetest little girl ever her dad is a less active member and she is reading the Book of mormon all on her own I have a lot of faith in her.
All these people are incredible and I have TONS of faith in all of them.
Now for the biggest miracle!!
We decided to stop teaching Brisa this week but this sunday she came to church all on her own! I literally almost cried because all week we tried to contact her and we had no success and then all the sudden here comes Brisa walking through the door I smiled so big.
Thats it for this week
Con amor
