Week 5: One Month In And Fruit Loops

I am offically one month into my mission!!

This week was very fun and just flew by

On thursday our teacher Hermana Carmona decided that we were to loud so she seperated us from our comapanions and gave us assigned seats. I now sit next to Elder Dickson and that was a bad move on her part because I laugh at everything and Elder Dickson is hilarious.

Friday: I have a new love of fruit loops I discovered this over dinner when the food wasn't that great so I decided to eat fruit loops and they are SO good I ate two mini bags and I had Hermana Millar smuggle some out for me. It is now a routine of ours and I now eat fruit loops before bed. I am addicted!! We also did another mock lesson and it wasn't bad. I understood enough to get by and although I didn't speak a ton I was actually able to form a few sentences she understood. Also Hermano Flores told me he thinks I am sad because I constantly look sad or mad. I tried to explain that my face just looks like that and he just laughs and goes " no no no you is sad todos los días.Usted es muy triste" so we had like a 30 minute counceling session on how to be happy.

Saturday was a long day. I was getting over a cold and me and my companions spent over 2 hours trying to plan our relief society lesson entirely in Spanish. It was very tetious but we got it done. During my morning class my teacher was ruthless and kept teasing me also I felt so good about myself after Hermano Diaz told me I had really good teaching skills and that I was really good at connecting all the gospel principles in a natural way so it boosted my confideance. Later in our afternoon class we had a 2 hour lesson on table manners and the whole time I was trying not to fall asleep. I had a raging headache, my nose was stuffy, my eyes hurt and the lights were so bright that by the time class ended I was about to pass out.

Sunday: I had to sing in front of everyone it was so embarresing especially because I can't sing but my two companions can so it was very obvious to everyone that I was EXTREMELY off key. On the brightside our lesson was a success!! We had a break after church and Hermana Eppley passed out for over an hour while Hermana Millar sat in our hallway

Monday was meh just another day

Tuesday we had a devotional and it was so good. We did an object lesson or whatever you call it and the CCM first councelor had us hold our breath for as long as possible but I couldnt because I started lauging and what makes it worse was that I was sitting in the front row and he was standing right in front of me and gives me the funniest look and goes " serioulsy" and everyone knew it was me and my companions started craking up. Our district review afterwards was so spirtual we were all on the verge of tears it was insane and so powerful. I love how close and comfortable we are with each other. I seriously have the best district ever.

Also the lord has answered my prayers. This morning me and Hermana Millar were talking about how we were craving peanut butter and we walk into the cormador and they had PEANUT BUTTER! We were very excited. So excited that we in fact at the same gapsed and went " OH MY GOSH THERES PEANUT BUTTER" very loudly I had been going through withdrawls from it so I ate a ton and was very tempted to smuggle some out but I resisted the urge.

Anyways... thats all for this week
Heres a scripture:

Ezkeial 37: 16-17
16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:
17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand

Hermana Millar found this scripture while we were writing our lesson plan for sunday about the book of mormon and I love how especially in verse 17 it talks about we need both the book of mormon and the Bible because they work together as one

Love you all
Hermana Jensen
