Week 3: First Days In The CCM
Hola everybody
I am finally in México and wow what a week. I got to México and guess what my companion Hermana Woodson couldn't come because something was wrong with her passport so she is now in the Provo I am so sad. But I am now in a trio with Hermana Millar and Hermana Eppley. They are so fun and really good at Spanish so they have helped me a ton.
The first night here was a little rough because since my companion couldn't make it I had to spend the night alone and it was tough but I got through it. The next day I was able to get my room assignment fixed so now all three of us ( me, Hermana Millar and Hermana Eppley ) are all in the same room and its a lot of fun.
It is so hot here but on Thursday and Friday we had thunder and lightning storms it was really cool.
People were right when they said the food here is bad. There are a lot of things I am to nervous to try and the things that I do try are not so great so I eat a lot of watermelon. Elder Kesler taught me that if you lie to yourself and say its good it will become so. He was very wrong. We have a fun little saying in our district its "cero miedo" which means zero fear so before we eat something new we say "cero miedo" and brave the food ( or we say it for no reason at all ).
My Spanish is coming along but on friday I had to attempt a five minute conversation with an actual latino and lets just say I sat there with a blank look on my face with the words " Lo siento" coming out of mouth every ten seconds. I don't know about you but I call that a success.
Today I get to teach my first lesson in Spanish. Its more of a mock trial but I am really nervous but I'll have Hermana Millar and Hermana Eppley with me so it shouldn't be to bad but wish me luck anyways.
I love you all
Hermana Jensen
